Privacy policy

How VotePulse collects, uses, and protects information when you vote, buy tickets, or contact us.

Last updated: October 8, 2026

Who we are

VotePulse (“we”, “us”) provides paid voting and ticketing for awards, pageants, conferences, and similar events in Ghana. This policy explains what we collect when you use VotePulse, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Event organizers run their own events on VotePulse. Payments are processed by Paystack. We do not sell your personal information.

Information we collect

  • Voting & tickets: phone number, email, optional buyer name, vote or ticket quantities, and payment references needed to complete checkout and deliver passes.
  • Contact form: name, email, phone (if provided), subject, and message so we can reply to your inquiry.
  • Organizer accounts: name, work email, organization details, and related account information for people who create or manage events.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser or device details, and basic logs used for security, fraud prevention, and service reliability.
  • Door / attendance: ticket scan times and related check-in records when you use a digital pass at an event.

How we use information

  • Process votes and ticket purchases, confirm payments, and issue digital passes (QR / door numbers).
  • Show organizers vote tallies, guest lists, and attendance where their event settings allow it.
  • Respond to support, demo, and sales requests submitted through our contact channels.
  • Protect the platform against abuse, failed checkouts, and unauthorized access.
  • Improve reliability and communicate important service updates when needed.

Payments

Card and Mobile Money payments are handled by Paystack. We receive payment status and references so we can credit votes or issue tickets after confirmation. We do not store full card numbers or Mobile Money PINs on VotePulse servers. Paystack’s own privacy terms also apply to payment processing.

Sharing

We share information only when needed to operate the service:

  • With the event organizer (and their authorized staff) for their event’s votes, tickets, and door logs.
  • With payment and infrastructure providers who process transactions or host the platform under contract.
  • When required by law, regulation, or to protect users, organizers, or VotePulse from harm or fraud.

We do not sell personal data to advertisers or data brokers.

Retention

We keep transaction, vote, ticket, and audit records for as long as needed for event operations, financial reconciliation, dispute handling, and legal obligations. Contact messages are retained so we can follow up and improve support. Organizer account data remains while the organization is active on the platform.

Security

We use industry-standard practices such as encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls for staff roles, and audit logging for sensitive actions. No online service is perfectly secure; please use strong passwords on organizer accounts and keep your ticket passes private.

Your choices

  • You can contact us to request access to, or correction of, personal information we hold about you.
  • Organizers can update their profile details from their dashboard.
  • If you believe a vote or ticket payment was charged incorrectly, contact us with the payment reference so we can investigate with Paystack and the organizer.

Children

VotePulse is intended for event participation and organizer use by adults or with appropriate adult supervision. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for marketing purposes.

Changes

We may update this policy as the product evolves. The “Last updated” date on the public page will change when we do. Continued use of VotePulse after an update means you accept the revised policy.
